Description

Make your classic treasures smart. With this 6-bit encoder kit, you can easily code your manual M-bayonet lenses yourself (whether older Leicas, Voigtländer, or Zeiss). The result: your digital Leica (M, SL, Q with adapter) recognizes the focal length, stores it in the EXIF data, and applies internal image corrections.

We learned: not all pens are the same. Many customers had problems with conventional felt-tip pens because their ink often shines and reflects the sensor light in the bayonet instead of absorbing it. That's why you get the Edding 8400 with us. It offers exactly the right matte finish so the optical sensor can reliably read the code.

The encoder simply clips onto the bayonet and serves as a precise stencil for coloring the dots (no drilling needed!). The coding is permanent enough for everyday use but can be removed residue-free if necessary.
Tip: On some lenses, there is a screw at a coding position. You can simply fill it with a dab of white paint and – if the code requires it – then paint over it in black.
