Film reels & development

Film reels get lost, developer reels for exotic formats are no longer available, and Jobo tanks need spare parts that haven’t been made for 20 years. Here you’ll find everything that moves film in the darkroom and camera — reproduced in Germany.

1

Film Reels (Take-up Spools)

The take-up spool inside the camera is the part most often missing when buying used. No spool, no film. Our reproductions fit perfectly and transport reliably.

Leica Barnack: Quick Load vs. Standard

The standard reel works but is fiddlier to load. The Quick-Load version (like Leica SPOOM / 14021) has a slotted core that holds the film start without trimming. If you shoot regularly with a Barnack, you save 30 seconds of frustration per roll.

2

Developer Reels & Sheet Film Holders

Most darkroom reels only cover 35mm and 120. For exotic formats like 8x11, 110, 127, or sheet film, there’s practically no supply anymore. We’ve filled the gap — compatible with Paterson System 4 and Jobo 1500/2500.

Paterson or Jobo?

Our reels for small formats (8x11, 110, 127) are available as duo versions: one model fits Paterson axles, the other fits Jobo axles. The sheet film reels (4x5, 3x4, 9x12) are designed for the Paterson Super System 4 tank. The axle tube adapter makes both compatible.

Development Tank Accessories

Jobo and Paterson have dominated the darkroom lab for decades. Spare parts for them are becoming scarce. Axle tubes, knobs, and spindles — the parts that wear out first with heavy use.

Is your format missing?

We also manufacture reels and holders for formats not listed here. Write to us with your camera model and dimensions — we will check feasibility.
